I’ve been out of touch for some time, I’m back now and I’ll try to keep my posts up to date.

I’ve started a new chair, here is a picture of the design.

I’m building it from White Oak.  It’s similar to a chair I did several years ago (the image at the top of this blog), except I’ve added some curves.  The rear legs are curved, rather than an angled piece.  The seat back has a gentle curve to provide lumbar  support ( = more comfortable ).

The rear legs are closer together than the front legs.  This makes it nicer to sit in but complicates the joinery.  There are very few places where pieces meet at 90 degrees in this chair.

I started building some jigs to help me cut the various tenons.
